The following links are to the U.S. Trustee's site and link to tables containing the values that in large part determine what chapter of bankruptcy you qualify for.  Some of these tables are state specific, some are county specific, and the last is district specific. El Paso is in TXWD the western district of TX.  You can go to the top page and navigate yourself at Means Testing (do this if you are looking for information for areas other then El Paso) or go directly to the sections linked below.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court provides  bankruptcy basics. Be sure to check out  the video link about halfway down the page on the left hand side.

We recommend the Federal Housing Administration site. Look on the left hand side of the page and you will find Hud's Guide to Avoiding Foreclosure.  Qualify for a home loan 2 years after discharge from bankruptcy and 3 years after foreclosure.  Stay current, read the "2009 Recovery Act".

 Link to Cornell University Law Library where you can find the complete bankruptcy code. Bankruptcy is Title 11 of the U.S.Code and covers all chapters of Bankruptcy.

Need Help on your Mortgage Payments: First Call your Mortgage Company and ask for a Loan Modification!  If they won't help, call one of the organizations listed below. 

If your goal is to modify your mortgage this must be completed before filing for bankruptcy.
